Well we woke up yesterday morning it it was all go..Nurses came in with her first small play picnic. There was sweets, chocolate umbrellas, Bread, ham, cheese, orange, paste a bit of everything really! She went starte in for the chocolate took a big bite and devoured every taste!! I couldnt believe my eyes! We then met her team of doctors, wow its hell of a team, there was about 20 people in her room and they were all top docs and terapists.! Lexi was very unsettled at this point as she hadnt had any milk or water since her tiny amount day before. One professor said give her 50ml milk keep her happy, the other sed no give her no love no tube feed give her food!! Easier sed than done!! They all then left and Dr Dunitz (Lady Professor) came in and said give her the milk.. we dont want to unhappy we wont beable to work with her..Very True!
10am then we had a big meeting with everyone on the program including all the parents, children doctors and therapists. We got to know everyone it was great, there are three other children on the program, one from Ireland, Australia and Singapore! We each went around and introduced ourselves, and we met each therapist to each child. We all had a therapy plan which explained what we will do every day for the 3 weeks. Every Wednesday we go swimming with Physio :D Lex will love that! 12 - 1 every day is a playpicnic, there is a big room with sheets on floor and little doll plates etc and small tiny portions of food dished out all over floor! they are left to play with the food. Lexi didnt like it at 1st (probs cos i woke her :\ lol) but after 10 mins she was laying on the rolling in all the food banging her feet in like a bolognese, splashing custard as if she was in the bath, licking it all of her hands, biting on a german sausage (looked like a peporami!) Sipping on her bottle of milk! She done brilliantly! 2pm we then had another doctirs round, they all kind of spoke to them self on this, said they were pleased with Lex and to try and keep her awke more.! She didnt sleep a wink the night before so was sleeping all day! Well we listened and kept waking her and took her out for some fresh German air :) It worked too she slept all nite and woke in a lovely mood this morning. It might have also hjad something to do with them letting her ave more milk.! They said there is no point her crying and being too unhappy as she wont want to do anything (they have learnt her ways already!) Her milk was increased slighly to 60ml 4 times a day! 2.30pm she had occupational therapy, we had to wake her again so she werent in the best of moods at beginning, but when she came around she had a really good session.! She had a bath of lentils which she loved, like a big huge washing basket filled with the seed things! I found them in her nappy all day afterwards lol! The therapist was very pleased with her and she done well! After this we went for a wlk to try and keep her awake, we went with the Irish family who are outpatients and staying in a hotel near the hospital! We walked up a path through a forest which was lusshh, covered in snow! was about 20 mins walk, was WELL worth it i had a beautiful cup of NESCAFE woo hoo!!! It gets dark by like 4 though so i was scared walking back lol! Even though it was lit up and people were cycling and walking their dogs through it! There was wild deers rúnning across our path it was nice i suppose :) Had a lovely evening kept Lex awake and she slept like a log all night :) Its ónly 8am now.
