I usually HATE MOndays, but this Monday I LOVE!! Woo hoo ive been soo happy all afternoon, just walking around with a huuge grin on my face :D After the weekend i wasnt sure if Lexi would be consistent drinking her bottle and i wasnt sure if they were going to stop her drinking her milk to make her eat more food. She woke this morning 5.30am for her milk, she drank 100mls no problem, she actually drank it as if hses been doing it for years lol! 9am then we had Speech and Language therapy, ive been soo excited all weekend to show Elizabeth how much shes improved with the bottle, well she couldnt believe it shes so proud of her and today she told me she has NEVER had a child to learn and take to it this quick, woop woop go Lexi! So she was trying to get her better at eating off the spoon today, she likes the taste of the food cos we put it in a bottle with a big teat and she took it and swalled it nicely, we put it on a spoon and she turns her noise up at it! OK, so we put milk on the spoon for her to taste lol she takes it, an empty spoon she chews on it but anything else she turns away. She is alot cleverer than she makes out :) She told us tojust keep trysing with food in the bottle and milk on the spoon so she gets used to them both and we will combine them! We will see her again 2moro morning any ways!
After this we had another session of psychotherapy, it was ok! Then we had occupational therapy, Lexi done really good agin, she had Lentil bath (i am making her one of these when we get home) and she had a massage and then she had a sleep on the swing to recharge her batterys ready for playpicnic! 12 then was time for the daily Playpicnic, i couldnt wait to go here either to show off her drinking skills to the docs. Professor Dunitz was there and she was amazed :) I asked what to do to get her onto food and that she was drinking peadusure high cal milk (which i thought was a bad thing cos she wudnt be hungry for food) she said - at the moment..nothing.. leave her enjoy her milk its new for her shes proud to be doing it and leave her do it! Brilliant! She is successfully weaned off peg and weaning to food could take 2-3months now. She is like a newborn baby again now and will start with milk and then progress slowly :) Fine by me. Before i came i said even if she came home driniing what she should have in her peg i will be over the moon! So the session went on she drank her dinner of 100mls great and everyone was so pleased with her progress.! Here comes the great part lol! Afterwards i talked to Prof Dunitz, when can we book our flights home as we only got a one way? do you want to go early she asked me. I dont i wanna stay here for the full 3 weeks, i think she can get to spoon fed in these next 2 weeks and even if she cant we will try our best! So i can book them for the planned stay 19th December she said woo hoo! My mum and dad are coming over 13th to 17th so i thought it be worth an ask if we could go home the same time as them as its a Friday and we dont do anything on the weekend anyway and the Professors reply was! Yess, why not SHE HAS MADE IT!! I could of kissed her lol, picked her up and spun her round haha! Shes done what they intended to do basically, weaned her off the tube. I think if they were doing it their way they would take the tube out this week! If it wernt for her medicines i would! How fabb would that be!! Im am soo happy tonight i went out with Alma afterwards and she said you are delighted arent ya, you havent stopped smiling lol :) I have just booked our flights home now its just amaazing, even that we gonna be home for christmas, cos i didnt expect to be home for that even!! Well ive gone ooon again lol but i dont care hahaha!! Im gonna go give Lexi a her feed now then a nice bath.! Oh Santa just came to see her, she was asleep, surprise surprise! I still had a photo of him beside her sleeping tho :) and he left her a lovely present of chocolates mmm (Milka too Yumm)
